Élan Slocum-Baysa is 21 years old and currently a Dance Major working for his Associates in Arts. Élan was born in Walnut Creek, California, but was raised in Waimanalo, Hawaii before moving with his mom, 4 brothers and 2 sisters to a horse ranch in Arizona. Élan's oldest sister Leah was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when she was a child and he feels that she has been a positive influence on certain aspects of his life. When Élan's mother told him that he would have an opportunity to use his knowledge of horses to help other families who have someone close to their heart with special needs, he was enthusiastic about volunteering his time. Élan is now a resident horse-leader for Lio Mana'Olana therapy center and works closely with T.E.A.M. Kids' Physical and Occupational Therapists, as well as Speech-Language Pathologists.
