Hope Kumme MT-BC, NMT

Board certified music therapist Hope Kumme is an independent contractor and Director of Music Therapy for TeamKids with an extensive one to one practice in the Chandler – Gilbert – Mesa area. Working with infants, children, teens and adults, her clients have a wide range of diagnoses including autism, cerebral palsy, Retts and Down syndromes, brain trauma and obsessive compulsive disorder.

A graduate cum laude of the State University of New York at New Paltz with a Bachelor of Science in Music Therapy degree, Hope has also been certified as a Neurologic Music Therapist at Colorado State University and received certification from the National Parkinson Foundation. She is currently enrolled at Arizona State University, were she will be pursuing a Master’s degree in music therapy.

Hope has extensive clinical experience in Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New York, and California as well as in Arizona. She interned with Mobile Music Therapy Services of Orange County, Orange County, California and was employed by Arts and Services of the Disabled in Long Beach and the School of Continuing Education at North Orange County Community College in Fullerton, California. Since relocating to Arizona she has also practiced through Arizona Music Therapy in Gilbert.

A member of the American Music Therapy Association since 1999, Hope has been a presenter of research at conferences in Atlanta, GA and Bethesda, MD. She currently serves on the State Legislative and Regulatory Affairs Committee for the Certification Board of Music Therapy. Hope was also recently included in the “Honors Edition” of Who’s Who Among Executive and Professional Women.

A native of Connecticut, Hope is excited to move into her new home in Gilbert, where she expects continue her after hours piano teaching, soccer playing and community involvement interests.
